Medical Scalpels
Disposable and non-disposable medical scalpels are used for minimally invasive surgeries and for open incisions. The distinction between the two types of scalpels is that some scalpels are made with handles that accept replaceable blades and are designated as a non-disposable scalpel. All blades are disposable, but those designed as one piece are considered disposable. High-carbon steel is a common material for medical scalpels, except in the case where surgery is performed under the guidance of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). For those procedures, a non-magnetic material is required.
The design specialists at IncisionTech are highly skilled and knowledgeable about the various medical scalpels and OEM requirements for replacement blades. They partner with many OEMs to supply the cutting devices for any type of handle. They have the capabilities of manufacturing all kinds of scalpels, including those designed with retractable blades as an added safety feature.
