Specialty Blades, Inc. Launches New Business to Expand Its Surgical Device Focus
Staunton, Virginia. May 19, 2005 – Specialty Blades, Inc. announced today that it has launched a new business, IncisionTech, to expand its focus on surgical device applications. Since its founding in 1985, the company has sold a variety of high performance, razor sharp, custom-made cutting solutions for use in a wide range of industries. An increasingly important segment has been the OEM medical device market, where Specialty Blades is recognized as the market and technology leader for cutting solutions.
In response to requests from leading medical device OEMs, IncisionTech is adding the capability to offer a broader array of innovative solutions for devices that have a need to cut, pierce, poke or prod. IncisionTech will add additional products to its historical line of high performance cutting blades.
The use of minimally invasive surgical techniques and other advances in surgical devices has helped trigger the growth in this sector. Products now under development at IncisionTech include endoscopic scissors, sharpened tubes, tissue cutters, lancets, custom needles, blades, biopsy punches, trocars, dissectors, cannula, and introducers.
