December 21, 2005 – IncisionTech announces the addition of new capabilities to reduce the time to market for medical device OEMs. As a Tier 1 supplier of critical cutting and piercing components to the most sophisticated medical device OEMs, IncisionTech is focused on enabling rapid new product development.
This focus on speed was the inspiration for the development of a new process for Rapid Prototyping. New surgical products that used to take four weeks or longer to produce will now be available in one week. This rapid prototyping approach is made possible through the recent addition of leading edge, multi- axis, fine-cutting YAG laser technology. Further reductions in cycle time have been made possible with the addition of:
- new 5-axis precision grinding equipment (for maximum process flexibility)
- new wire EDM (for highest levels of precision)
- new CNC forming capability (for tube and wire product and orthopedic disposables)
- new extreme profile grinding equipment (for profile and centerless grinding)
- new electro-chemical pointing process, optimized for precision critical medical components
The addition of these capabilities rounds out the most diverse platform of edge generation and point technologies available on the market. Most niche suppliers have a single core capability, such as precision grinding or electro-chemical pointing. As the Center of Excellence for cutting and piercing, IncisionTech now has ALL of the core capabilities required to optimize the solution, such as precision grinding AND electro-chemical pointing AND sharpening / cutting edge generation.
